Above Sacramento

Bird’s eye view above Sacramento Executive Airport in a helicopter with pilot Scott. Love it!

I flew with Scott, in a two seater helicopter. My first impression was “Are you kidding me?” No doors, a tight squeeze, and a safety belt right out of a car from the 70s. I’m not afraid of flying and Scott looked like he loved loved to fly, so I knew I was in good hands……and I was! Not long before I was captivated by the sights. The perspective is jaw dropping. Stunning colors. Loved every second of it.

Beautiful patterns across the Sacramento valley

We were flying between 600-1000 feet. The high we were it did get colder, and without doors, was pretty windy inside the craft. The wind picked up my denim jacket from behind and blew it over my shoulders. I also now knew why they stressed my camera needed to be strapped to my body. It’s a MUST. I’m ready to go up again in a heartbeat.

The photo on the left is a very high Sacramento River. Middle shot is that spectacular river divide between the Sacramento River and American River at Discovery Park. Always have been fascinated by this, but this particular day it seemed to be an extreme contrast. contrast.
